From 2008-2009 Alistair was a senior computing officer at the Department of Zoology, University of Oxford, and was project manager for the FlyWeb project, applying Semantic Web tools to develop openflydata.org, a site providing cross-database search services for Drosophila gene expression data. Prior to that, Alistair was a research associate at the UK Science and Technology Facilities Council e-Science centre, where he was involved in research and development projects in Semantic Web, knowledge management, data sharing and digital repositories. He led the Thesaurus Activity of the Semantic Web Advanced Development for Europe Project, which first developed the Simple Knowledge Organization System (SKOS). He has also been involved in two World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Working Groups within the Semantic Web Activity, and has contributed to the standardisation of SKOS, and to best practices for data and vocabulary publishing in the Web. Alistair has an MA (cantab) in Natural Sciences and an MSc in Web Technologies.

Dr. Eunchul Lee is a professor of Library and Information Science at Sungkyunkwan University and the president-elect of Korea Library Association. He also served as the president of Korean Society for Library and Information Science from January 2001 to December 2002. His main teaching and research interests include, among other things, the effective management of libraries and information centers. He has made significant contributions to library and information science communities through various consulting and research projects. The following is a list of some of his recent work: 1) designing ways to improve article indexing systems for Korea national assembly library; 2) investigating usage statistics of Korea special libraries; 3) designing ways to improve performance measurement of university libraries; 4) developing and managing a historical resource center for East Asian countries; 5) revising the 3rd edition of Korea Dewey Decimal Classification (KDC).

Michael Crandall is chair of a program at the University of Washington Information School focused on the management of information in all types of organizations and settings. The program blends theory and practice in the areas of management, technology and information organization to meet the needs of those responsible for effective creation, delivery, and management of information for their users. Prior to joining the University of Washington, Michael spent four years as Technology Manager for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's Libraries and Public Access to Information Program. This effort deployed over 40,000 public access computers and Internet connections to over 11,000 libraries in the United States, helping libraries provide free access to computing resources and the Internet to over 95% of the American population. As part of this project, Mr. Crandall also managed the grant for development of WebJunction, a public access computing portal available to all those interested in sharing knowledge and resources on this subject. Prior to joining the Foundation, Mr. Crandall worked at Microsoft and Boeing. He is a member of a number of professional organizations and advisory bodies, and has authored numerous publications on knowledge management topics.
