Call for Sponsors
The National Library of Korea (NLK), a DCMI member, is organizing the 9th Dublin Core Metadata Conference for the 12th to 16th of October 2009.
As a key technology of Semantic Web, metadata provides a crucial component of modern digital information systems, and its implications for the future information society are expected to multiply. Dublin Core Metadata, an ISO standard, will continue to fulfill its role as an essential contributor to the vitality of information systems, not only for information searching and data processing but also for interoperability between systems.
The Dublin Core Metadata Conference is an annual international event where the very best experts on metadata converge. At a typical Dublin Core Metadata Conference, 150 to 300 participants make it a consistent success through rigorous exchanges of ideas and projects.
Each year the Conference is organized around a topic that is related to metadata, and offers diverse programs including research paper sessions, project reports, workshops and tutorials. This year’s theme is titled
‘Semantic Interoperability of Linked Data’ as a way to realize Semantic Web.
